Should've stated price... Looking for under 50 preferably 40, have a 30 dollar 550 to or a 30 dollar 460. Also could get a 660 or 580 but I think those use too much power. Which is better a 550ti or a 460, and will they work with the attached psu?14992294807441784039368.thumb.jpg.99c5c6f4c19b0aea0651b9338b0aab79.jpg

Yea ik lol, it was pulled out of an old prebuilt, although it does have one pcie connector so it can't be horrendously bad. Will it blow up with those in it?

i am not really sure, if you can spend a bit of money i highly suggest you pick up a cheap 450 watt psu, CX gray 450 watt can go on sale for 29usd after rebate.

Thought I might have to do that but would really prefer not to..... Maybe if there's a good deal on Craigslist but otherwise I might just try it. Thanks!

I'll always rep the 660, it's a great card and has served me so so well.

But will it work with that psu?

I ran mine off the dogiest getto 400w PSU for some time. It worked well. My fault was to use a crappy adapter that eventually lead to a small fire in my PC. 400w will drive the GPU while still having enough oomph left to start a fire :) So yes, it will work....

What's the best cheap gpu that only requires one 6/8 pin and will work on a 400 watt. Being used for indie games, csgo, older aaa games like bo2, and possibly newer ones like r6s

GTX 1050ti FTW. It's only $160 and I play Fallout 4 on Ultra and TW3 with Hairworks and Antialiasing off on Ultra at 1080p just fine. Sell some shit if you have to. Mow lawns or something, it's summer.

DO NOT spend less than $50 on a GPU. Anything priced that low is bound to fail or is a scam.

Source: Tried to buy a 480 off Amazon for $50 and was scammed.

The GTX 460 is better than two GTX 550tis in SLI. Chew on that.

Source: I've had both

The GTX 460 SE would be the one to get because it only needs a single six pin and I've used it on an old 245W PSU. It can run things like Skyrim and Fallout 4, its only limit is its 1GB of memory.

I may get a 660 over 460, and why do you say it'll fail? It's a placeholder gpu until Vega but is gonna be a hand me down for my sister.

Because good GPUs sell for higher. And a GTX460 is a good GPU. Unless you're getting it from a reputable source like a friend or IRL store, then avoid extremely low prices because there's usually something wrong with it. I almost got a Z77 mobo for $65 but all of the CPU pins were bent...

But a 660 is a better gpu... And it's not necessary an extremely low price, it was listed for 60 but never sold

I'm not saying 'don't buy the 660', I'm saying don't buy something that's priced lower than it's worth. Items that are being sold for less than they are worth typically have problems.

It's just some friendly buying advice, that's all.

Sorta took that out of context sorry. Yea the 660 was listed for 60 and they are selling for around that price on eBay, probably just trying to sell it after a few weeks so he went to 40

Honestly if I were you I'd buy a GTX 1050ti or a used 950. Both are leagues better than the 660. I got my 1050ti for $160 before the GPU shortage (fuck miners) and I love it. It's hella back-ordered on Amazon right now, but stores like Best Buy have them in stock. My last 1050ti was the SSC, and the FTW I have now was actually $10 cheaper. Plus, your AMD chip would be bottlenecked by the 660, so get something with at least a score of 6500 off Passmark. The 950 FTW gets about that, at least mine does.

I know Passmark isn't the most accurate benchmark but the scores are simply represented.

Here's some more recommendations:

GTX 760

GTX 750 Ti

GTX 960

GTX 560

GTX 580

GTX 480

Don't buy anything pre- GTX 4XX because they suck. The 4 series is slowly becoming obsolete and soon the 580 will suck too.
