So essentially, I have a client who needs their software freed from their corporate overlords, because whereas they BOUGHT the licence, the overlords won't allow my client to continue to use the program without subscribing to a new agreement, which wasn't in the original agreement. So legally, my client should be allowed to use the program, but the overlords don't care.

So anyway, any advice on where I should begin to remove the check licence part of the program??

ALl I want to do is legally pirate this software!!

Thanks guys (and gals)

The legal costs outweigh the subscription cost.

Then pay for it.

Otherwise go to HR show they are not letting him do what he can do and they will fix it, and if they don't he was never allowed

are you sure there are perpetual rights?

does your license allow you to modify the program?

Get a lawyer before you break the law.

Buying license doesn't give customer any protection against developer making new version with different license terms and then stopping development on current version. But unless stated otherwise in ToS, developer can't just block use of current version. Which is why Microsoft for example can't just force all to use Win10.

Your client really has three options. Use current version. Pay for new version. Find better deal from competitive developer.

Locked.

As mentioned above, removing DRMs, regardless of the reasons is illegal. The only solution here is to either pay up or use legal actions against them.

Also, we don't allow discussion on "how to pirate a piece of software" (from the Community Standards);

Quote

Talking about piracy in general, broad details, is acceptable however the posting or discussing pirated/hacked/cracked or otherwise nefariously obtained content is not. This includes Windows content, games, hackintosh, etc. Also discussions regarding ways to avoid or block legitimately installed monitoring/tracking software or the like is also not allowed.
