Hi so ever since the recent chrome update to 59.0.3071.115 i have been having strange problems with YouTube and i cant figure out why.

Videos take ages to buffer and sometimes the video freezes and skips forward while audio remains normal.

I have tried doing a clean chrome install no addons or anything wiped the cache history and cookies and enabling / disabling hardware acceleration and nothing works.

this is starting to drive me crazy.

YouTube is just pretty trash sometimes.

I have confirmed with my Windows desktop and my MacBook Pro with different browsers that the website goes through ups and downs of how it works.

Sometimes it will load 480p video on a 120mbps internet connection, other times it will have the replay button instead of the play button and will take a few seconds before it even tries to load.

the iOS app is even worse. A few times it has drained that battery and made the device very hot. A 10min video could sometimes take like 10% battery. Its just buggy.

yeah its 100% stable

hmm. done anything recently? new antivirus/firewall/ads , if the event started recently , you can try to do the usual system restore (if you have  a date set for it) see if that works or just  completely uninstall browser flash player & clean up the registry , you know , the usual ground up switch off/switch on again thing everyone does . but install an older version of the browser see if it works .

Although very rarely might be a new codec update where you inadvertently used a corrupt media spliter file for browser player in general , so do look on that as well .

Details separate people.
