So... OS X Mavericks isn't available on the app store anymore, and I can't seem to find a reliable place of getting/downloading it. Any idea where I can go to get it (a place that's reliable and trustworthy)?

It's not on the recovery partition, it came with Yosemite.

all i can find is patched to Mavericks on Apple Website.

what happens when you try to download those? I would imagine it would want to get the rest of the OS.

You could contact Apple directly.

Also why do you need Mavericks again? Its rater old and has some big security holes.

Welp then there is nothing you can do really. Your best bet is to try and find an installer somewhere else. Mavericks is no longer supported, you cant get mad at them for not having it. It would be like getting mad at them for not having Snow Leopard on hand.

Probably shouldn't have told them that your intention is to violate the terms.

You only get access to those versions of macOS you download while they're available. Once a new version is out, the old ones are only available to those who already downloaded them at some point.

Your best bet is to find someone who can download the installer for you.

It's not legal, but otherwise nothing keeps you from doing whatever you want with the file. They don't come tailored to the specific system they were downloaded on.

Is there a way to upgrade from Mountain Lion to Mavericks? Obviously without just simply running the install OS X Mavericks application, which I don't have. Like, an option in the Mountain Lion OS itself?

I'm pretty sure MacOS will want to dump you into the latest version. Its possible though. (I have never needed to do these things with a Mac before so this is all strange to me lol)

I checked to make sure, and it looks like virtualization is actually allowed, as long as it's done on top of a Mac. So I jumped the gun, my apologies (source).
