Games run well such as lawbreakers, pubg, and rocketleague but all of sudden while playing my fps will drop from 60-80 down to 5-10 for 3 seconds, some games i get 100-120 fps, but same drop happens. I have msi afterburner logs on my first topic from a few weeks, but that was because of stutters with my 1080ti I'm having that RMA atm. My 980 is installed stutters are gone but the major fps drops still occur. Sorry for the poor grammar in advanced.

try seeing if your mobo has a BIOS update, then check ram. If nothing then reset CMOS. If nothing after, reinstall windows.

Go to the downloads page for your motherboard, the BIOSs will be there. Download the latest one and put it on a usb stick.

A bios update can fix some memory issues. If you enter your BIOS you can see what version is installed, and if it's not the latest version update it (doable in the bios it self usually).

If that doesn't work, try windows memory diagnostic or memtest.

If that doesn't work reset bios by either: Taking out the button (CR2032 usually) battery on your motherboard, or pressing a button on the mobo (if it has one).

Never update your bios if you are not 100% sure that your current bios is causing issues. The reason is, if you really have defective hardware you can make your situation worse by updating your bios.

Start with memory Diagnosis, then try to use another PCi-e 16x slot. Make sure you check your PSU connections on the Graphics Card and Mainboard

just making sure that you uninstalled your nvidia drivers before downloading the 980 ones (after you took the 1080ti out). I know that updates can sometimes mess up your cards and switching cards out completely porbably has a chance to do the same thing. this is also the simplest thing to check so why why not.

@Sta1n I have terrible speakers at work, i had to pull it up on my phone it seems it may be the issue. Can you look at my first topic at my logs from msi afterburner and see my gpu usage??

Well lemme do that when I'm at home. I have smth to do rn but it maybe something on your gpu drivers/bios/windows settings (thats what the video says tho). The video maker also said that he had absolutely no idea why is this happening to his pc so he basically told in the video how did he fixed it.
