Best Choice for 1440p Performance

Hi.

I currently own a 1080ti and a 3570k for 1440p gaming and 16gb of RAM. I would like to now upgrade to a better cpu.  I've been looking at the RYZEN 1600x and 1700x and the 7700k. Any suggestions? I have a budget of $1000. Overclocking suggestions (for the new CPU) are also welcomed. I'm looking for better performance than the CPU I currently own.

If you're just gaming (nothing else), the i7-7700K will be the superior choice. If you're doing content creation, streaming, rendering etc. then getting the R7 1700 and overclocking it makes more sense.

If you are spending 1000 then get the i7 7800X. If you want a save a 100-200 then get the 7700k.
