I was wondering if EEC memory will work on a normal H97 board. I wasnt sure if it would just not work or if it would run as non-EEC.

It would run as non-ECC.

Should work. There are some boards that will say "no", but I think those are individual and not across the range.

The Registered ECC RAM you see online for low prices will not run in a desktop. Unbuffered/unregistered ECC RAM might though.
