Motherboard BIOS update problem

I'm buying a new system but on pcpartpicker it says that i might need to update the bios on the motherboard ( msi gaming pro carbon atx) before using the cpu (AMD FX-8320E) so if anyone has any experience with this could you please tell me if the bios update would be a problem when setting up the system

nah should be easy, BIOS updates can be done a bunch of ways, with or without an operating system. Most motherboards have a "Flash BIOS" option either in the BIOS or the boot menu that will browse a USB stick for your new BIOS file and let you flash it. Or you can get into windows and use an exe style updater like dell and others do.

 

Problem is though, if you need to update your BIOS to run your new CPU, you will need a compatible CPU in order to turn the mobo on and flash it, bit of a catch-22.

I would highly recommend not buying that outdated CPU.

indeed, probably worth waiting for Ryzen 3 at this price point
