I have decided to put together a media server after some searching and recommendations I've decided to use plex. Ive been seeing how it works with a handful of my videos using my primary computer as the testing ground and so far it seems that it will suit my need. One problem I've noticed is that my current cpu( a I5-4670K) seems to be pushed to the max while converting my movies. I want to have a dedicated server with a decent amount of storage raided just for this purpose with up to 8 possible simultaneous users. I'm trying to figure out if I should just use one more powerful cpu or get a motherboard with two cpu sockets and go that route. Or would it be worth finding a refurbished server to use for this purpose. Ideally I'd like something that will last me a while and if need be can grow with my needs or be upgraded as needed. Any ideas and thoughts on the best way to go about this would be appreciated. Thanks I have about a $2000 us budget with room if needed
