PCI-E Bottleneck?

Not by much or at all since a PCIe 2.0 x16 is very close to a 3.0 x8. Very few GPU's have reduced performance in real-world scenarios in this regard.

Hello everyone. I have an older motherboard and on this motherboard the only slot available for a gpu is a PCI-E 2x16. Will this bottleneck a gpu designed for a 3x16 slot and if so how much? The use of this computer would be various kinds of animation and casual gaming.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...
