Hello Everyone,

I'm Tomer, 23 y/o from Israel.

I've been gaming and messing with HW for as long as I can remember, I discovered Linus' Youtube channel a few months ago and since then watched almost half of the videos on it.

Buying high end gear in this country is hard, most brands aren't available locally, and shipping here costs a ton.

BUT my birthday is coming up in a few days so I decided to treat myself to a new PC for the occasion, I'd love your comments on it :)

i5 4670K

Corsair H100i (Not Final)

ASUS Maximus VI Impact

Gigabyte GTX 780

Crucial 16GB 1600MHz CL9

Element 650S PSU

White Bitfenix Phenom mITX

I'd love to take part in this awesome community!

Tomer.

Is this only for gaming?

Try Get a Seasonic/Corsair PSU

Is that 16GB of ram cheap? Get 8GB and save a bit of money if not.

Hi man! Welcome to the trap  LTT forum!

Your PC looks pretty nice! Maybe dompu the h100 and air cool it and put a SSD in there.

I don't see you have any storage devices, do you have a HDD / SSD at home?

Definitely change your PSU. Something from Corsair, Coolermaster, OCZ, Seasonic would be better. Get a different motherboard (unless you need the features of the Maximus VI Impact? The M6I is excellent, but it doesn't help performance over any other motherboard from Asus/Gigabyte/MSI.

I'm keeping the storage from my old PC (120 SSD + 3TB HD).

lufihengr: I can't find any normal PSUs in this market, so I settled for the one I listed

Never heard of that PSU before, but here's the link for others: http://www.highpower-tech.com/eng/product_page.php?class=20100527154213&id=20121210173717#product

Not sure what to say about it.

Otherwise good build, if you need 16GB of RAM is totally up to you.

And also, with this case, you may need some fans to push some air in (expecting that H100i will be installed on top)

maybe swap out the h100i for a high end air cooler, possibly a cheaper motherboard, 8 gigs of ram and go for a 780ti instead with the money you just saved? or just keep it the way you feel is what you want :)

oh and welcome to the forum!

looks good just almost the same as what I am planning with my steam box next year but keep in mined that the new Maxwell GPU's from Invidea are roamer  to be realest on Q1 2014.

Also I Hear that Intel's 14nm Broadwell CPU might have DDR4 and higher bandwidth PCIe lanes.

But this is all roomers so just take it with a pinch of salt guy's.

Have you thought about going for an AMD FX 8350 rather than intel.  Having 8 cores is very handy for gaming as the new consoles share that number and game developers are starting to go for core count over total chip speed.

I am now preparing to duck from all the abuse that will no doubt come my way for saying that.

Nothing to see here - move along.

I actually work at Intel so I get a special price on the CPU and Motherboard, that's more why I chose it.

Well, then it's all good. If the PSU is great, this system will just rock.

But, please, get a fan in front of the case.

Two things,

1. Change the PSU, others have already posted reputable brands such as Corsair/Seasonic/Enermax/Silverstone ect.

2. If shipping is expensive and parts are hard to come by, I'd suggest using an air CPU cooler, much lower chance of having to RMA/Return it due to simplicity, and a good one from the likes of Noctua will perform fine for that CPU, if you do this and your ambient temperature is high (I've been to Israel, I know it can be warm) consider getting a blower design graphics card to help keep hot air out of the case.

If it will be easy to RMA the cooler in the event of fault then no reason to take my advice above.

Thanks for the comments everyone!
I will probably drop the water cooling and get air cooling and some fans (We have Noctua here!).
Hopefully the money saved will be invested into buying a 780ti instead of a normal 780 :)

I'm looking for more PSUs, I think I might be able to find Seasonic or Silverstone here.

Tomer.

Some things I would change.  Go with 8GB for an i5, go for 16GB with an i7, just my opinion.  I would go 1866mhz if you can since that is becoming more and more popular.  You don't need to spend so much money on a motherboard for an i5.  Silverstone is a great brand.  I recommend the Silverstone Strider plus, I also wouldn't go with an i5 and a 780ti or 780.  Even though it probably won't bottleneck I'm paranoid about it being fully even and stuff.  If your looking at getting an i7, you could go with the 4770k or for cheaper get the 3820, its the 2011 socket which means 3 things, fully upgradable without a motherboard change, more RAM, and just more of everything!  For the cooling, if your going z87 or z77 I would recommend the Noctua NH-U12S, if your going with Socket 2011, the Noctua NH-U14s should fit perfectly fine, although I would still go with the u12s to make sure you have enough room for everything.  Good luck! Thanks for posting your build ideas here! Remember your always welcome here and if your worried or need advice no question is dumb or stupid :)
