Mobo for x299

Slightly higher ram speed supported on the strix.

 

As there's no specs listed thats about the only noticable difference, except for aesthetics.

Keep the chipset a bit cooler, but as long as you have good case air flow and flow over the motherboard that won't be a worry anyway.

 

I think. The x299 chipset could run warmer than others or something, not seen anything about it though.

If you can wait , wait for ROG stuff. they are much better than strix and they have ton of good feature for custom water cooling.

honestly basic ROG is more than average costumers need. but if you have a lot of money, go for it.

Both are from asus and are great quality, just look at the huge specs list and decide what you want/need.

ye i think though series is just look of the mobo and 5 years of waranty that comes with it .i think srtix must have more features.

i am not sure, i think right before the new i9, the one with 18 core.

i ordered the 6 core skylake so i need a mobo for it

so wait for your cpu, i think it will take awhile, as soon as you got your cpu order the mobo from a fast shipping company like amazon, i dont know how fast is B&H. but they usually ship fast. that way you have the time to do some research and maybe ROG stuff comes out. i like the strix better though if you have to get one of those. check some gigabytes too. i remember i saw a very good gigabyte in computex . might have been amd not sure.

Are you only shopping from B&H? Cos all they have rn are Asus and msi. If you can check on newegg they have a much larger selection.
