So everyone seems to be pissed at the OnePlus folk for the pricing on the OP5 but let me draw a comparison, I switch from an iPhone 6S to the OnePlus3T which I bought outright since it's the best way to do it for me which cost £399 and right now on the OnePlus site the OnePlus5 is £449 which to me is actually a ridiculously good deal, I mean sure it's not water proof but good for me I don't tend to drop it in water (touch wood).

 

I'm just not sure why everyone is ragging on it when a lot of people do like £40 > £60 monthly contracts for two years and suddenly have the gal to say that's it's either too expensive or a waste of money as I am actually impressed they are doing so well with such niche hardware against the likes of Apple / Samsung.

I dont think 3T to oneplus 5 would be an upgrade for me. 821 is still a great SOC, and camera is still up to par. I'm not a whole dual camera person. More of a curved display. But still. I dont see much of a difference for me to upgrade to the 5

I understand this but it's like there seems to be a massive amount of bandwagoning this generation which for the most part isn't exactly warranted and it's mostly from those who upgrade every iteration which to me is just bad practice and odd. I'm looking forward to the OP8/9 since I'm one of them people who upgrades every 4/5 years (them bills ya know). They could do better i'll admit but to me the price seems reasonable for a phone that's not got extensive brand recognition and seems to be the runt for now.

Cause Oneplus's marketing/PR team is full of children and keep creating random BS hype. They need to stop with the hype.

The problem is, imo, price and it doesn't deliver anything truly outstanding.

 

The previous phones all didn't have any stand out feature, but they were expecting over $200 less compared to flagships.

 

Now though, it's just around $150.

 

For $650 you could get something like the HTC U11, which has a superior screen, superior camera, water resistance, and expandable storage. That's honestly putting the OP5 into "a decent deal, but you can get considerably more for a bit more money" range. Or you could get an iPhone 7. Pay a bit more and there's the S8.

To be fair that could be almost all mobile PR teams in fact almost all of them do this.

You think thats bad...I used to go on contract with iPhones!
