Is there any reason to get a facy liquid metal past or am i'm going to be fine with something generic like IC Diamond?

There's no reason to spend more than $15 on thermal paste. Just pick whatever works but not something like Dynex

The only thing I would use liquid metal for is when I'm delidding a haswell or Ivy bridge CPU. You only want to do that once, so I think that Liquid metal should be considered an option here. You have to be super-careful when applying it, though. The stuff is conductive and will short out components if you get it wrong. But it does have almost the same thermal conductivity as the solder used on older sandy bridge CPUs has.

Its a pain to remove from a CPU. I would only use for the die-heatspreader interface where it never has to be replaced.

you could silver solder you heatsink on. that would be best

buy it in bulk on the cheap buy enough to last for years and years.

you can also get mx-2 65gram if you use a shed load of it for work for instance for like 30$ ..

The thermal compound that comes with coolers is good enough to cool your computer. If you want it to be a few degrees cooler, get Arctic Silver MX4.
