IPS vs Gsync

Go to solution Solved by 107x,

the bleed shouldnt really be a concern, either you win the "silicon lottery" and get a monitor with no-little bleed or you dont it comes with all ips panels

So I am currently on the search for a new monitor and these are my options:

Asus MG279Q for about 350 EUR here a Picture with an IPS Glow Test (Seems bad) https://gyazo.com/fd672712ba04727d9fa48c8a38937c08

Asus PG278Q for about 380 Eur (Shitty Gsync makes it so fckng expensive/ Greedy Nvidia)

I really want the IPS Panel but the glooooooooow seems terrible. Maybe you can help me out?

You won't notice that amount of bleed in most situations. No one turns off all the lights and increases the panel's brightness just to see that bleed.

1.) The glow looks far worse on camera/photos because it gets overexposed, it is not nearly as bad when you look at it with your own eyes.

2.) It is not a backlight bleed but AH-IPS (AHVA) Glow which is visible only if you are looking at the spot from an angle. Another thing is that this is invisible unless the screen is black and you sit in a dark room. Also, with very high screen brightness the glow is more visible than with a lower brightness. On my monitor, it is practically invisible after I set up my screen correctly.
