Rosewill glacier 1000W opinions?

Hey guys.

I have in my PC right now a 500W evga unit, and Im looking to upgrade. Im going all out on the PSU; because I don't want to go through the hassle of upgrading it again as my components need power.

Im running a ryzen 1700 and a gtx 1060, looking to go to a top end card soon. Maybe more than one card, ( one for gaming the other for rendering blender or mining IDK )

I already regret buying a b150 over an x370, I wish I had bit the bullet and went for the x370 and would have been able to expand more, but what's done is done.

I have my eyes on this guy here:

Problem is, I cant seem to find any reviews on it. No info of the such, and all the PSU guides are outdated so I can't tell what units are good or not. Not looking for a fancy or data center class PSU, just one that could run my 1700 and maybe a 1080ti or two in SLI. I don't use full power all the time either, so that shouldn't be an issue.

What do you guys think? I just want to buy it and hold onto it for as long as itll last. Probably use it till the warranty is up then put it in another PC i don't care about.

This is the only review I could find of the PSU family, and it seems like its satisfactory. Again, I'm not looking for anything world class, just a psu that can sit and chug along.

NO! That's way overkill and the quality is horrible. Get the EVGA B3, SeaSonic M12II or CXM grey at the least.

The Rosewill Glacier 600w is based on a completely different platform than the higher wattage 850-1200w model, so that review isn't relevant. The 1000w should be a better DC-DC unit though and is made by Andyson.

Anyways, since there isn't a review I know of on the Rosewill Glacier 850w+, I would pass on it. If you are going to SLI a 1080 Ti, I would recommend a getting a 650-750w PSU.

Btw, "going all out" on the power supply doesn't mean getting the highest wattage possible but rather getting the highest quality you can within your budget range that can power your system.

For a good value 750-850W PSU, which gives you more than enough for future upgrades, take a good look at the EVGA B2.

idk

1000W is overkill, even if you're gonna buy another card.

More importantly, that doesn't look like a good quality PSU.

Go for less power, better brand.

Seasonic, Corsair HX/AX series, certain EVGA units.

800W will be MORE than enough for 2 1080Ti's.

Bare in mind while you have a 1060 in there, you're going to be pulling about 300W under load, lol.

A system with 2 1080Ti's will likely pull about 650W from the wall.

You need at most a 450W PSU, even if you get a 1080 Ti.  Keep in mind that getting too high a wattage actually means it will be less efficient.  Stick with your current PSU.
