XFX GTR RX480 8GB resale price? (UK £££)

iRileyx

So very recently i have been keeping an eye on the RX480 prices(all brands and models) and noticed about 90% of them are selling for more than retail, after seeing this i decided to check up on the exact model of mine, the XFX RX480 GTX 8Gb edition, one the same as mine sold for £280(yeah £280, when these were first released the RRP was only £249) which is what i paid for mine.

NOW i'll be honest and say i've put mine for sale with a £279.99 starting price after seeing sapphire nitro cards going for over £350+ which i think is absolutely insane. I've also seen various other 480's selling for over £300 when theyre not able to overclock as much as the XFX GTR meaning for mining they will not grant as many resources per day or per hour.

At the  minute they seem to be worth alot more than the RRP was on on them, which is why ive decided to sell/

I know that it might seem slightly over priced to some people, but those who know about mining, do you think £279 is a good price to list the card at? bare in mind it can OC to 1420<hz through MSI AfterBurner.

I wont include the link to the ebay sale, but if youre from the uk and interested in actually buying this, message me for the ebay link to it and feel free to bid on it then. But the starting price is £279.99 thanks to miners.

But if you have any advice on how to market it better to the miners (I've only been using it for gaming at around 1350 clock which it runs at more than stable with no problemsl Then please comment to let me know, i'd obviously like to get every £ or $ out of this card xD

you won't get many people here, put it up on Craigslist or other local used market.

I'm not tryna get people from here to buy it, im wondering if its a fair re-sale price more than anything, based off of other re-sale prices of similar and the same cards etc.

I saw this guy other day here sold a rx570 for 300 pounds, you might ask even more for that one to be honest, gotta take advantage from the whole mining scene and get a 1080.

i am going to be a bit of a dick here, sell if for more than the retail price, see what the demand is for mining. i bought my rx480 8gb MSI for 180 usd after rebate from NewYork, sold it for 300 USD and bought a gtx 980ti for 240$ a few days ago. is it right selling your hardware more than you bought it for? no, but if someone wants to buy it I am gonna to stop them.

some even goes high as 435$ https://newyork.craigslist.org/search/sss?query=rx480&sort=rel

I only paid £250 for this XFX GTR, one sold the other night for £280. so me putting it at £279.99 is above retail anyways :P i've seen some sapphire cards go for over £350!? the xfx gtr is one of the best 480's available so im hoping to get atleast 300 for it, then i only have to up 50-100 towards a 1070, or even 150-200 to a 1080 for massive gains. xD

I'd sell it for 400.

Not being an abusive opportunist. Just trying to be practical. It's not your fault prices are that high nowadays anyway. It's just right to sell it for your gains. Lol.

I don't wanna be too greedy with it honestly. If i can get more than i paid for it then i'm happy haha, the closer the price i sell it for gets to a 1070 then the better it is for me i suppose xD.

The way I see it, it was AMD fault to keep pretending there is no such thing as miners, they keep constantly running out of stock every then and when making the actual gamers suffer and really don't seem to care about it.

The first rule of market is price equals offering vs demand, there is no offering and a lot of demand therefore price going up is only fair, you're not being greedy for being realistic to our current situation with all those Polaris cards.

So I am obviously upset how gamers are suffering in the hand of miners but I really defend the guilty here is AMD's poor market research.
