So I'm trying to figure out how I can get windows to go on to the lock screen when the PC is idling. Sometimes I leave my PC on for an hour, then come back and its not at the lock screen.

Thanks. :)

Easy!

You have 2 methods, which can be used in combination:

  1. If you have a phone, and your computer has Bluetooth, you can have Windows lock itself out when you walk away. (well, when your phone is away from your PC). It is called Dynamic Lock, a new features in the last update of Windows 10. To enable it, first connect your phone to your PC via Bluetooth. Then go to Start > Settings > Accounts > Sign-in Option, and the option "Dynamic Lock" is there ready to be enabled. :)

  2. Start > Settings > System > Power & Sleep. And set the sleep timer what you prefer. When your system is idle and no one uses it, it will go to sleep after the specified duration time, on wake up, it will get you to the lock screen. That is assuming the option "Require Sign-in" is enabled for "When PC wake up from sleep". This is found under Start > Settings > Accounts > Sign-in option, at the top.
