Currently have

i5 4690k (OC to 4.5)

16gb ram

1080 ti

Should I get a second 1080 ti

Or upgrade to ryzen 7 1700x

Monitor is x34

3440 x 1440

100hz

What would be best for my set up and make for best performance

Thanks !

1080ti is better option imo.

Unsure what power supply to pick?

Check out my HTPC build.

i5-4690K is good @ 4.5GHz

Maybe bump up the ram a bit, buy a bigger HDD and get a SSD

No need to buy another system, no need at all.

Get a Ryzen. Unless you're cranking out all the options in games and you want to guarantee 100FPS or higher, then getting a CPU upgrade makes more sense to me.

Why the fuck would OP get Ryzen when his current system is perfectly fine?

You dont even know what the OP's  is using it for.

And you don't know what OP's requirements are either that make their current system "perfectly fine" for them.

My hobby is my PC.

Upgrading your CPU won't be very noticeable, save it for now, SLI will increase FPS by about 80% max and that is if the game has great SLI support, plus the amount of titles which don't get SLI profiles for months, you're better off sticking with what you have for now. Keep the money and put it towards something else, or you next build in couple years.

2 1080ti's with an i5 doesn't seem like a good idea tbh

misread. Ryzen does make more sense. Sli isn't well supported and a 1080ti should be fine for everything you want to do right now. Depends on what you are doing with the system. At that resolution I would get something different though becuase the i5 isn't a bottleneck. I would only upgrade if you need the cores for something.

I would say CPU. SLI 1080TI is sort of a waste of your money.

Coming from someone who does have two 1080TIs in SLI, I would agree, to a point.  If you only play at sub 4k resolutions, then yes, it is a waste of money simply because you won't really see the advantages of SLI at that resolution.  I play at at 4k, and I promise you, it is worth it.
