I just bought an HP from Best Buy and I downloaded Runescape and steam. I decided to then download fallout new vegas and then quit the installation since it was taking so long then I deleted the macafee security since I thought I didn't need it.

I then played runescape for about 20 minutes then it crashed like the cpu was handling too much and decided to not respond so I quit it and restarted runescape then played literaly 5 minutes then to completely froze. So I did ctrl alt delete to see and nothing then decided to do the old power button hold and I turned it back on then it said it couldn't even load my previous files at all and I was so confused.  I'm currently doing a hp software install with no disk so I'm guess it's already pre installed.  It's really  aggravating me that I'm using this solely for runescape and some other applications and it's already completely screwed up beyond my understanding.

can anyone help me in understanding this?

When you buy a laptop or desktop at a major retailer and it's branded dell or HP it will undoubtedly come with bloatware. I think there are tools you can download that will uninstall the bloatware but I'm the kind of person who would rather wipe the drive and just reinstall windows. I'm guessing in your situation this is some type of recovery software HP implemented if a system crash occurs. I can't say definitively what it is because I'm not familiar with any HP software.

Ok thanks. It eventually reinstalled all of its bloatware and it is now working okay. Hopefully it won't cause any issues.
