Hello all!

I have been saving for a very very long time to build muself a gaming pc. I have collected 950$ and would like to replace my old asus laptop. I mainly intend to do cpu rendering and gaming in AAA titles such as Rise of the Tomb Raider, the Witcher 3 and Mirrors Edge Catalyst, along with slightly less demanding games such as War Thunder. I would also like to do cou rendering and have ansel/shadowplay.

I do need a monitor, but i have peripherals.

Thanks a lot!

-Lukas

I started with that PSU but changed it due to already exceeding the budget. Tier 3 to higher wattage tier 3 doesn't make much difference :P

I only ever spec WD and Seagate drives as I have used both and are most commonly used. 3TB for only a small price premium makes the drive suspect to me but it may be fine :)

Oh yeah, my mistake, I thought that was tier 2, I got mixed up :(

Definitely better choice then to go with your suggestion @tom_w141 - I might still suggest the 3TB drive though for just $20 more... they normally have a 2-3 year warranty anyway IIRC, so if OP is keeping OS and progs on SSD, at least if it does fail he's covered for that and doesn't have to re-install or anything. And I agree with having better HDD if the budget would allow for it, but I would get 2TB minimum for sure, so maybe a WD blue 2TB would be better. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/bskwrH/western-digital-internal-hard-drive-wd20ezrz
