Building this for a friend.

Budget is $1000, but I can go over by like $25 (as I have done)

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor  ($209.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock - AB350M Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard  ($65.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill - Flare X 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory  ($106.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: SK hynix - SL308 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($87.88 @ OutletPC)
Storage: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($48.44 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: Zotac - GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Mini Video Card  ($334.45 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: Corsair - CXM 450W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($46.99 @ Amazon)
Other: In Win 301 Tempered Glass Premium Micro-ATX Mini-ITX Tower Gaming Computer Case Cases 301 White  ($69.99 @ Amazon)
Other: Windows 10 ($35.00)
Other: Fans ($20.00??)
Total: $1025.71
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Anything You'd change about the build?
What fans should I buy? the In-Win 301 comes with no fans, so obviously I need some. Probably static pressure fans as well. which are the best (I want at least 2 fans).

Also, I need a monitor for this. Maybe something 1080p ultrawide?
My friend's dad works at Samsung, so he can get a deep discount on any Samsung monitors, so it's probably best to pick him a Samsung monitor, simply for cost savings. (this also goes for Samsung SSDs and stuff in the actual build)

A- get an rx 580 8gb

B- get a better psu

then spend the saved money on a better mobo, from a manufacturer like msi (b350 gaming pro?)

When you have bought a couple fans isn't it more expensive than a P400 TG? Also the main In win turn off for me is the huge branding on every case

It's $70, so if the fans cost $20, it is a bit more expensive. however, the motherboard is a real cost-saver. it's gross to put an mATX board in an ATX case, so if I go with the P400 TG, i have to go with the cheapest ATX board, which is about $25 more expensive.

so overall I save $10 if I assume fans cost $20. I'm hoping I can get some fans for cheaper, so then maybe I can save even more money.

I would pick a PSU with more capacity. It won't go past the 450w rating, but it's close.

Also, if you don't mind using the SSD solely as a boot drive, then a 128GB one will save money for an ATX board, which carries more expansion slots for further upgrade in the future

A- Why

B- If it is the 2015 version (black label) all is good.

C- No improvement in performance with a better mobo and it is not like they will be putting it under LN2 or doing SLI.

The whole point is that I'm trying to fit in a GTX 1070. I'd be a cake-walk if I had $100 extra from downgrading the GPU.

The PSU is fine. Tier 3 is definitely good enough, and the wattage is more than needed.

The motherboard is really not great, but I'd much rather have a low-end mobo, than have a 30% worse GPU.

In fact, I'd rather downgrade the CPU to a 1400 or 1500X before I'd downgrade the GPU.

Not to say that I'm just throwing your feedback out the window though. I do consider all feedback given to me.

get a better mobo. it's not that much more expensivc - the ab350m is absolute trash for everything and doesn't let you get the best of the Ryzen platform's features.

it's a A320 mobo with a B350 chipset on it.  it doesn't even support 95W CPUs FFS

idk

Ideally, I want to make as little compromise as possible, So I'll try to hang on to the bigger SSD unless my friend really wants it to be under $1000, but it's the first thing to get chopped if the price is too high.

the PSU won't reach anywhere near 450W. I have a 4770K (more power-hungry) and a GTX 1070, and my PC barely draws 300-350W from the wall under full load. bearing in mind the 80% efficiency of my PSU, and my 1070 + 4770K take barely more than 300W. 450W is fine.

The case is mATX. I chose this for a reason -- cost savings. it will look okay in an mATX case, and it's significantly cheaper.

That's the HDV version, which only has two phases. this is the non-HDV version, so it has three phases (and is cheaper?), letting it supply up to 95W. it's not a great OCer, but it should be enough to get a 1600 up to 3.8Ghz or so, which is really all I'm expecting.

Why spend so much on a motherboard. that's $40 extra.

In this case, I spend $30 more, and get:

- Better Motherboard

- Worse SSD

- Case with no Tempered Glass

IMO, the better motherboard doesn't outweigh the other drawbacks, and it's starting to really push the budget, and tempered glass is really cool, and it's something that I'd prefer to be part of the build.

However, you don't need to include the $15 fans on that list, since the S340 comes with fans.

very good build though, I will take parts of it into consideration.

It ain't ideal, but it will work.

and the non-HDV model does have an, albeit small, but still present, VRM heatsink.

SP120s seem promising.

But still a bit too expensive.

I know it's hard recommending shitty fans, but I'd really like 2 for $20 or less.
