I am building a new system, ill mostly use it for gaming. I already have a gtx 1060 6gb(and a 650w ps) and have about 500 to spend(a bit less).

I think of buying:

- Ryzen 5 1600

- Msi x370 krait(or sli plus)

- 8gb ddr4 2666Mhz(dont know excactly which one)

- Corsair H60 AiO

- Aerocool Sl-5100 case

What would you change(I probably wont go for B350 mobo). The only thing I am not sure about is the cooler, i dont know it will preform and i would prefer a liquid one.

I wouldn't recommend low end 120mm AiOs as high end air is better and quieter, I would try to get 16Gb of ram. You also are missing storage.

If you're only gaming, why are you going for X370 instead of B350? B350 overclocks just as well, if that's what you're worried about.

Main:  1650 v2   @ 4,6GHz   -   X79 Deluxe                -   GTX 1080 @ 2000MHz   -   24GB DDR3 @ 2400MHz / CL10

Side:   i7-4790K @ 4,5GHz   -   Maximus 7 Hero        -   GTX 1070 @ 2114MHz    -  16GB DDR3 @ 2666MHz / CL12

The only real benefit of getting a X370 motherboard is because of SLI. If it's significantly cheaper, I'd just a B350 motherboard and an extra 8GB of memory for a total of 16GB.

I too second getting a similarly priced air cooler which will produce less noise and have less points of failure. 120mm AIOs are meh.

I would recommend not getting an after market cooler. at all. use the stock cooler (its actually quite good for what it is, and you will get some overclocking out of it). Use the saved money to get 16GB of faster RAM, maybe a different motherboard if you had your heart set on it, or maybe an SSD if your system does not already have one.

If you plan on going ryzen in the future..go for x370 board..if not, then also an x370 board..but i would suggest you get a good b350 like the asus prime or gigabyte gaming..look for reviews..they are fantastic boards..and spend the remaining bucks on a corsair h100i v2..its a fantastic cooler and stands upto every other cooler on the market..the 240 rad will help you get better overclocking and temps

Yeah i know but would really like a water cooler because of looks and i dont think its that bad. I also live in a small country so there is a big problem with shipping, i cant even get a 212evo without some serious shipping fees. Its one of very few coolers i found, others are air and not from very known brands. Also they look a lot uglier

Just saying its better value and quieter (Also less risks, an aluminium heatsink cant fail, a pump can).

What exactly are you saying? Get an X370 or B350?

OP, get a B350 board, don't get a 120mm cooler like that one, just spend the money on either a good air cooler or a 2xxmm rad. Also, you should get 16gb of ram, it's a good investment for now.

Why? The only benefits to an X370 board is SLI and Crossfire support, which you can't even do with a 1060. X370 doesn't overclock better than B350 either.

There is no logic reason for you to get an X370 board instead of a B350, even though you're getting support from your father. Let him help you with another part of the build, for example a better cooler, 16GB RAM instead of 8 / faster ram speed (which scales very well with Ryzen). Ask him to chip in the money he would for an X370 board on something else.
