you can overclock an IGPU, it's a bad idea, you can/will cause instability, in the worst case scenario you will kill your CPU.

Youll probably only get like 5 fps max of a benefit. Just save up and get a dedicated GPU. Especially for games like those

The best thing you can aim at is RAM Dual-Channel, Overclocking won't get you far.

IGPU uses RAM as memory FYI

But he's playing GTA V... Wouldn't buying a graphics card be better?

having two dimms of Ram installed on your system will give you Dual-Channel (aim at same brand, speed and capacity for compatibility).

for iGP it's rather important the difference between having 8GB of ram in one stick or Two 4GB ram sticks.

But for a dedicated gpu I need to get all of the stuff except the PSU and case for a pc build

I only have a single dim of 8gb in it

Buy another one at least same speed and capacity to guarantee it will engage dual channel mode. That's the highest fps boost you can expect from your iGP.

But I have to some how open up my laptop to add the extra dim because it's impossible for me to open it up

yeah, it's different / harder depending on the laptop. I know some laptops I've worked with you have to pretty much take the entire motherboard out just to install more RAM (RAM is under keyboard, but you have to take apart the laptop starting at the bottom.

I'd also say it's not really worth the effort of trying to overclock the iGPU...
