Started playing this in the beta, absolutely love it.

Love the freedom, the huge continents, the massive battles. But there are a few balancing problems, such as the NC not having any decent LMGs, the TR being nerfed pretty much every patch, and the VS complaining too much about nothing ;)

Also, has anyone heard anything about the Bastion?

And the NC are the only ones to start with a bolt action sniper, I believe.

I just came back to the forum from playing some PS2. Today I've had this weird flickering glitch happen like 3 or 4 times, has anyone else noticed that. I've only had that problem once before and now it happened 4 times a day. What's up with that, ay?

I play mostly VS and a little bit of TR once in a while.

I guess it's probably the GPU, since you're probably running at 1080p and I'm running at 1620x1050 AND my GPU's more powerful. I get 40-60fps depending on the action on screen at max settings.

I have had this multiple times to me before also. Not quite sure what caused it but I just stopped playing for awhile then when I came back it didn't happen to me anymore

I have a 6850 and a 960t at 3.6Ghz and get around 40fps on mid at 1080p. I think you may have a problem with your GPU.

I played this game once and didn't really like it but my little bro made me carry on playing and now I love it! It's great storming in to battle with a load of Magriders, the sky full of Scythe and Galaxys, and loads of troops running alongside. I bought some SC when they were tripling all that was bought so I upgraded my Magrider and Vanu Infiltrator loads. This is definitely a great game when you learn it and play for a while.

the learning curve and the time you spend just running or driving kinda makes me not want to play it.. but it really does seem like a really good game if you want to use alot of time on it.. :)
That's why you deploy to where the battle is ;)

The amount of time it takes to just get certs to better yourself is crazy. And with so many people playing real money to either upgrade it leaves you at a even bigger disadvantage

Certs don't take long to get if you are good at the game. You'd be surprised how many people are using the basic gear that you start out with, I rarely get killed with weapons that people have bought. The best weapons do have to be bought with SC, it would take a crazy amount of time to get 1000 certs for a single weapon!

Why is this game not using dx11 you would think a 2012 title would use latest Gen tech, or am I missing something.
it's a free to play game, they need as many people to be able to play as possible, so they decided directx 9 was the way to go. This game actually plays on intel hd graphics according to the devs.

not really what dx10 and dx11 add to the mix is not so much if you see what you can actually do on dx9 for example this games runs on dx9: GW9, Skyrim and few other that I don't recall their names atm :D but they can do it on dx9 and is more stable/mature than the other dx its a wise decision considering its a free to play :D

It's your cpu. AMD cpu's just are not good enough. The dev's explained why in a post during beta and I can't find the link or remember exactly what they said. Something about intel platforms having better memory throughput and it being a major contributing factor to the difference between performance of the two. The cpu/gpu will not be at 100% usage if it has to wait for information because of bandwidth limitations. Also, the game requires more settings tweaking than other games because turning all settings down will cause a lot of newer hardware to go into power saving mode and reduce performance while only turning down the settings that are causing the performance to drop will increase performance.

The game is an MMO running on an MMO optimized engine because of the scale of it all. It has the same limitations as other MMO games, but because it is an FPS it is more detrimental. Lots of MMORPG's have the same issues where frame rate plummets in places with lots of players together. It's not poorly coded, it's just that technology isn't good enough to do what they are trying to do. There will be some optimizations for sure, but don't expect massive performance boosts through coding improvements.

I've spent a lot of money buying weapons and none of them are even as good as the basic ones. I can't be sure about the NC scum or VS bugs because I am TR trying to save the world from those terrorists :P and didn't waste money buying guns for the other factions when I was playing around with them, but I can only imagine their purchasable guns are just as terrible as ours. As far as infantry goes the bolt action sniper for 100 certs if you aren't NC and the rest is wasting money to have an overly specialized piece of garbage. I have heard the newer 1000 cert bolt action sniper is better as well, but I tested it and had a ot of trouble figuring out the bullet trajectory but the normal one works as I expected it to. I only use a sniper when for some reason nobody else is and we need some overwatch, so didn't spend much time with it.

The vehicle weapons for farming infantry are way overpowered though. They like to think they've balanced them because you do terrible damage to other vehicles, but all the vehicles have anti infantry weapons so they can't kill you either. Hopefully they get nerfed in the next update.
