Hi,

Does anyone have any idea what the "cheapest" fibre router would be that has:

VPN Client support built in (without having to flash 3rd party firmware)

802.11ac WiFi

Gigabit Ethernet Ports (not 100mbps fast ethernet ports)

I say "cheapest" because I'm still willing to spend a fair amount just would like to find the lowest cost option available. All the ones I've seen that do what I want are above $100 USD, but is that the price to expect for a router with these specs?

Thanks

Pretty much yes, routers with thise features either will be quite expensive, like $300 plus, or they would give you a subscription service to a certain VPN, so then you have a monthly cost as far as I have seen anyway. The cheapest option would be to get a flashable router, that you flash with tomato for instance and then the router has more features to it for advanced users like VPN settings. This isn't a "broad" advice about them, just saying in my experience that is what I have seen, there may be models out there that do what you want tfor less, but I have not seen them.
