This is a new build i was looking at.

I haven't got my hands n kaby's, 10 series or z270 boards yet.

Just wanted to hear any thoughts on potential bottlenecks in this system.

This will be used for moderate gaming, moderate video editing, graphic design and architectural design (cad, sketchup, lumion)

Msi m5 z270 motherboard

Corsair Vengeance LPX 16Gb (2x8gb) DDR4 3000

Intel Core i5-7600k Kaby Lake

(watercooled by Kraken x42 or maybe Corsair h100i v2)

Corsair Force MP500 M.2 2280 480gb

Msi GTX 1070 sea hawk

EVGA Supernove G3 power supply

Not that it matters, but at this time I'm thinking I'll use the NZXT H440 case

Thanks for the help

Get a 1700. The system you suggest doesn't make much sense.

1) why would you put a 100 dollar cpu cooler on a 240(?) dollar cpu, you won't get 340 dollars worth of performance, even with an OC.

2) video editing, graphic design and architectural design scales well with more cores, 8C/16T destroy a 4C/4T cpu by a LOT.

Apart from that, quite good, a nice X370 board and a decent cooler and off you go.

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

Yup, that i5. Either go for Ryzen now, or wait what the new Intel chips are going to do.

i5's are no longer a safe bet for gaming, they're pretty much minimum requirements at this point.

It's no wonder that most modern titles put i7's in the recommended lists.

I'll be honest, I've always been an intel guy.

At one point (mid 2000's) I used an AMD GPU and was extremely disappointed.

Kinda turned me off of AMD.

I've not had those types of issues with Intel (or in GPU case - Nvidia)

A switch to AMD just makes me worry a lot about things like driver compatibility, and maybe even more, my lack of knowledge and experience with AMD products.

I feel like Ryzen hasn't been around long enough to really prove its longevity.

@Samcool55

Can you explain this more? It seems to me like you're saying not to watercool.
