Go for Ryzen 5 1600 and B350, with the saved money, get a GTX 1080. There you go, much better performance.

Given that he is gaming, the 7700k will still be better than Ryzen 5. Even the 7600k can get you higher frames when gaming, but he should beef up his CPU cooler a bit.

@Cyndre1033 I was going to look into an aio water cooler but I heard there's a possibility that they make leak after using it for a while and I'm not that sure which air coolers are better.

I would downgrade to a 7600k, and if you really want the ASUS board you can keep it (I love mine). Maybe something like the Cryorig h5 or h7 if they are available in Singapore. Also, ryzen might work if you put money saved into a 1080, sorta like what @FTL said.

It's not about "best gaming performance". It's about the best performance you can get for your money, and R5 1600 + 1080 will give you much more fps than the i7 7700K and 1070 (while maybe costing less).

Also, the 1600X and 7600K and both very similar in gaming performance, but since the Ryzen is cheaper (CPU + Mobo) and is better in multithreaded tasks I would get that.

No need for X370, get a B350 motherboard (you can still overclock) unless you plan on SLI (which I don't recommend).
