Optical thunderbolt 3 ?

Does anyone know if Linus is still using the Thunderbolt to optical cable and hub to use his PC from a different room ?     I want to do this also I want to hang my PC on the wall and on the other side of the room have a desk with monitor keyboard etc.   So where is the optical Thunderbolt 3.       All I can see is 2 meter Thunderbolt 3 cables ?

Personally, I'd be surprised if Linus didn't use Thunderbolt 3.
