Ram upgrade

Specs:

i5-3470

Asus p8z77-V PRO

2 way SLI MSI 660ti 

8GB ram 

Windows 7

 

I was wondering if i upgrade my Ram from being 690mhz to 1600mhz, would i see a  increase in performance in games like BF4.

No you would not see any difference in performance. I would also recommend population your Blue RAM DIMM's first.

I've heard that bf4 likes high speed RAM, although really its a rumor so I quite personally wouldn't trust a rumor but its up to you.

I wouldn't trust rumours unless they have proof.

Yes you will see tangible improvement, as your RAM is currently crazy slow.

I didn't even know you could get DDR3 that slow

A 1333MHz kit will be fine

He is using 1333Mhz. Remember that DDR is Double data rate. So he is running 690x2 =1380. So it is 1333Mhz

Hmm, yea I think this is probably what he means actually. I didn't consider that.

It's the way it was worded: "being 690mhz to 1600mhz."

Using 2 different methods of measuring to compare.

 

In that case, no @Gregas , you will not see much of an improvement going to 1600MHz RAM.

I think i am still going to upgrade their is a really good deal  on corsair ram at my local PC store.

If you think it is worth the upgrade. Like I said before, you will see no performance difference. Only thing you can do is increase your capacity which might help if you multitask.
