Stuttering in Plex App

Hi,

Just notice stuttering on the plex app on my smart tv. I'm not sure why it would be stuttering when I've got a Cat6 cable plugged in directly to the TV.

Any reason on why this is occurring?

Plex Library on External HDD

Cat6 connection - for local streaming

Used Makemkv to rip movies with 5.1 ch audio.

need more info. What is the plex server hosted on? What sort of file is it trying to play? Is this the first time this has happened? Is it the only client streaming from the server

? Does the file play fine in vlc?

Is it a Roku TV by chance? I had a similar issue and research proved that Plex was allocating too much RAM on the TV, and it therefore could not save buffered video.

Try turning the TV off and on and see if it fixes it. Worked in my case.

its also possible that its having issues encoding the video during playback.

try using Handbrake or something similar to encode the video beforehand, so plex doesnt have to.
