So does anyone have a good recommendation for a printer for around $50-70? I will just be printing black and white docs and such. A reputable brand/reviews/experience wouldn't hurt. I was hoping for something online as well. Thank You if you can help, same as otherwise.

EDIT: By the way, Maybe something easier and newer for windows 8.1. I know they all work by still, something newer Maybe.

Does it matter? You're buying a new one when it runs out of ink anyways...

Don''t see where you came up with this comment.  OP made no mention of replacing ink and such.  OP didn't even mention what type of printer was wanted.

HP Officejet Pro 8100 is a decent little printer if all you need is...to print. lol, pretty barebones for around $100, recently purchased one, very easy to set up with wireless and whatnot. Not too bad, just lacks some features, but by the sound of it you just need something that prints text on a page :P

OP never mentioned that they were concerned about ink (or toner).  There are printers that don't use ink or toner such as thermal printers.

Which require thermal paper that last I checked doesn't come in 8.5x11, and would be impractical regardless. And it doesn't need to be mentioned, it's become commonplace to buy new printers when you run out of ink.

I can't say I have seen a letter sized thermal printer.  I know that with the printers I have, it would be crazy to replace it every time it needed supplies.  But I have a laser and inkjet all-in-one.  So buying new versions of those printers wouldn't be cheap.

Just need a laser or inject. Anything decent works in the $ range.

I think he is talking about laser printers

I'd get the HP laser printer.

But that's just because I like HP :P

Any other recommendations?

Lasers are one thing. Toner actually last, and make economical sense. Inkjets are A: dirt cheap and B: expensive as hell to refill. I don't replace printers in my house because they're all lasers, but inkjets are almost always thrown out when empty.

Get a laser printer. You'll save so much money, I've had mine for 2.5 years now and have had to replace the toner cartridge just once (the "starter" cartridge lasted about 5500 pages). Laser also simply looks better (important if using it to print application letters or project write-ups/term papers).

Laser: Pay more now, and never replace it for a long time....

I could settle for either one. I do agree though.

It isn't "pay more" in the long-term though. Get a printer designed for an office usage scenario and the paper will cost more than the toner per page printed.

More money for office printer paper? I may have misunderstood.

1 sheet of paper will cost more than the toner used to print on it. For me, printing one page of text uses about 0.4 cents worth of toner, and the paper comes in bundles of 500 sheets for 4 euro (0.8 cents per page).

Toner is just a cartridge right, not the header? Me derped out.

Yeah.

Why do you need a printer? It's about as useful as a CD player.

I use mine pretty much every day.
