SLI can sometimes be a real pain and scaling isn´t great in most games. So I´d say 1080Ti.

If you're going 4k 60 then one is, for the most part, enough. But if you're going overkill already, WHY NOT GET ANOTHER.

Note though, acer and Asus are prepping 4k 144 hz monitors so you might wanna consider those.

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

While SLI can be a tricky mistress, you can always disable it and just use one GPU for games that don't play nice and use two for games that do, I have been playing around with SLI'ed GTX 480's and SLI'ed GTX 680, and didn't find too many things that those old cards can't deal with, so idk where all the SLI hate comes from, I think it's people who don't/haven't use SLI, so SLI GTX 1080ti's if you wanna be the very best.

Yours faithfully

Assuming its for gaming, if youre gonna force yourself to run 60hz id go with a single card. If you care about frames more id go with a top end high refresh ultrawide with two 1080ti's or 1080's. I always prefer 2 cards as every game ive ever played has benefited from it and single cards are still too weak.

Yeah just get 1 GTX 1080ti or rather get the new GTX Titan Xp (2017) if you can get one, that is better than a 1080ti and will destroy ANY game at 4k60hz.

Really don't. as with the one before it, a good cooler on the GTX 1080ti and it will crush the Titan Xp, take for instance a STRIX GTX 1080ti, that cooler is probaby one of the best and can keep the card well under 80°C, the reference cooler found on the founders edition will struggle to stop it derating with GPUBoost 3 even.
