Ryzen guys always count them peripheral lanes don't they?  :D

 

x299 will have up to 44 CPU lanes and 24 chipset lanes.  68 total.  HEDT guys like that sort of stuff.  I know I do.  

 

Threadripper will supposedly have 44 CPU lanes as well so that will be nice.  It'll be interesting to see about any other lanes.

Having more is better, don't have to be limted by them lanes.

Ryzen only has 16. Add chipset x370 then you get 24 total. 22 total with a b350.
