An old modem

Red jive

I have a old modem (6 years old) plugged into a new router but still getting relativity slow internet connection. If i upgrade to a new modem would i get fastest internet speeds?

100 megs is what im paying for but im getting around only 10 megs download and around 20 upload

it's also inconsistent as hell sometimes i get 10 megs a second sometimes I get 2 megs a second

How are you measuring the speed?

Speedtest or Steam or something else?

What model modem?

What ISP?
