Yes that is correct.

Okay, Take out the Drives from both PCs. connect them into another computer and then you could access the files without needing to log in..

Windows may give issues when dealing with permissions, but yes, you can do that.

There is a backdoor with Windows XP, but it's not the easiest thing to do.

They aren't desktops and I also don't have a desktop. I know I should've clarify that and I'm kicking myself for not doing so.

Interesting, everyone seems to happen to be locked out of a XP machine recently. Judging by your post history here on LTT, you should be savvy enough to figure this out on yourself? No? Or is there something in particular that you need help with?

@jasonwj322a

You can still take the drives out and use a cheap USB to SATA adapter to access the files, or put the drives in a desktop.

Right. I've thought of many ways already but just have a hard time executing them. I don't personally own a desktop which was why I didn't have second thoughts on the hard drive wiping.

I guess the USB to SATA adapter would work. Thanks @Jamiec1130

About the locking out of Windows XP issue, I don't really know.

These computers were just old ones so we forgot about the password.

There was a similar thread here about an hour ago:

How do we know the laptop is actually yours? Last thread was fairly suspicious. Just exercising caution.

I have found the .iso but I will await your response.

I logged off lol

I have nothing to do with the last thread, probably a different scenario all together. I don't have anything to prove they are mine, they actually aren't mine technically....

I'm 16 and the laptops belongs to my parents. They aren't tech savvy so they are asking me for help as they know I am into computers and such.

Now I seem suspicious by explaining too much lol
