Can I force my monitor into a different aspect ratio?

Mohfuu

Hey guys

I'm wondering if there's any way I can squish my display into a 1:1 or 4:3 aspect ratio so that the edges will just get trimmed away or display in black.

Thanks :)

Yeah, just set that as your resolution in your OS.

depends on the graphics, I've found nvidias software to be a pain in the butt, at least AMDs way of doing it was... simpler if integrated intel I haven't used intel graphics in years so I wouldn't even know where to begin

Is there any way I can specify exactly the resolution I want, like 1440 x 1440 ?

I'm using an NVidia card if that's any use.

Just make a custom resolution in the nvidia control panel.

As far as I know changing the resolution the normal way may not work properly, like my 1080p tv had to be set to 1836x1032 or some junk like that by resizing through the "Adjust desktop size and position" page in the nvidia control panel. Setting the same resolution through the "change resolution" page didn't work so...if just setting the resolution doesn't work for what you want try resizing
