Low cpu usage

Fx 6350 40% usage on cs:go at 80-100fps no fps cap with a strix 1060 any1 got any ideas how to fix this

Resolution? Video settings?

Need to mention that Source engine games tend to be CPU bounded

cant change the graphic settings in a game like cs:go will throw the players aim off (this is on a guys pc just joined a team but the cpu is shitting the bed)

Well, if you don't give CPU more processing, it will stay at low usage. Since fps is playable, there isn't anything wrong.

for a pro cs player anything under 144 is unplayable

Just read OP again. I thought it was FX8350 which would be fine. But FX6350 is like using i3. Tell the guy to upgrade to 8350. Shouldn't be that expensive considering its 6yo chip. I don't know why it wouldn't be used more, though. If it works fine for other tasks like benchmarking.

ryzen 1600 should be here next week some point but in a tournament atm its on the stock cooler got a case fan sat on the gpu blowing at it which is helping so i guess its just over heating anything i can do to help the cooling out?

Change paste, blow out dust. Thats about it. Could also run game in windowed mode and lower resolution. I've heard some pro's use 800x600 windowed.

paste was changed only a month ago dust is clear he uses 1600*1050 coz he likes the 16:10 not 4:3
