Why a 980 Ti instead of a 1070/1080/1080Ti? Did you get a good price on it?

$293, I thought it was a great price.

That is a great price, 1070 performance for quite a bit cheaper.

Yep I am super pumped about it! It arrives the 25th :( Worst part is I already sold my 280X yesterday so I don't have a desktop, just a laptop lol. I have a 4k monitor and the 980 TI was the most affordable card I could purchase to lightly game at 4k. So I didn't feel too bad spending that amount for that performance. I know it won't be ideal but a hell of a lot better than a 280X. Haha.

Give that Ryzen some OC love. She's only making it to 3.65 GHz turbo average. I bet you can do 4.0

plugging in my USB stick when starting this benchmark was a mistake, it just take too long.

Anyway, I run the test will all my apps open (using 85% of RAM and constantly swapping to my SSD), definitely 8GB of RAM doesn't fit my workflow. I also have some CPU using task on the background, so it might not be accurate.

I still beat you by a few percent on my 1070 though (I got 113%) :)

I could get that if you would like lol, this isn't overclocked... And there is a lot of overclocking headroom, the cooler on this Strix is insane (IT'S MASSIVE!). I just hope I didn't lose the silicon lottery. Haha.

Yeah I think the 1070 trades blows sometimes and wins by a very narrow margin against the 980 TI (AIB cards). But that's a stock 1070, not overclocked. So it is a little better, but for $293 I am happy with the performance lol.
