Final Build Specs Final Input

So after several weeks, I believe the following system is what I'm going to build.  This will be my first build in nearly 15-16 years.  That being the case, I'm I overlooking any compatability issue or any other issue?  I appreciate your help!

This is just my opinion but get a 1440p 144hz monitor over a 4k one. You will have a better overall experience. Also go for a g502 mouse

Well, You dont have any storage other than the m.2 slot. I'm assuming you have old hard drives you will repurpose?

The PSU and Mobo are extreme overkill. 32 gigs of ram is probably more than you'll ever use

Are you saying I should lower my build specs to save money vs spending more money in an attempt to future proof for a period of years?  I know it's overkill, that isn't the point.

but the evga components are really good picks, especially the z270 board but the sad part is that they removed the I/O cover on the z270 versions..

I mean, don't spend on things that doesn't provide any significant benefits for you. Unless you have lots of money to spend.

Also, this is not how you future proof. I would rather spend those money on a better CPU and GPU.

What better GPU?  The Titan for like twice the price?  I guess I could change the mobo and CPU and go with a 6 or 8 core processor, spending even more money.  But, for gaming, I think the 7700 is best as it is.

Theres a difference between future proofing and spending money on functionality you dont need or will probably never use.

This argument is best personified by the PSU. Processes and GPU's are becoming more and more efficient. Even SLI can be run off of less wattage.

The board is literally a waste of money. Almost all of those features can be found on boards half the price! I would know because I paid $165 for my Z97 board three years ago. (And are you REALLY going to use the u.2 slot? That form factor was DOA)

You will see very little difference in nvme vs SATA SSD performance.

Okay, MAYBE you manage to use 32gb of ram. Thats a lot of multi tasking though!

TL:DR your money is better spent else ware on other things, not necessarily PC related.

The GPU is basically as good as it gets. Titan XP is not worth the price you pay.

7700K is the absolute best processor for gaming.  (as of today) More cores will not help games in todays time, thoguh with Ryzen launching 6 cores at $250 prices that could soon change.

A 6-8 core Ryzen 7 is cheaper than a 7700K (though you're getting the non K?). But the 7700K is currently the best for pure gaming performance.

See, I knew I was missing something.  I'll probably add a Corsair H100i v2 water cooled.  Also, in regards to the PSU, if I plan to overclock the CPU to 4.5 or higher, will this type of wattage ever be needed?

I have been debating whether or not I should get a 1440 or 4k monitor.  I'm not sure the graphical differences are that extreme between the two and I know 1440 monitors can be purchased with higher refresh rates.  Are those refresh rates really going to make THAT much of a difference?

That cooler is perfect. No objections there!

You should be able to easily hit 4.8ghz+, and with an OC'd 1080ti, you wont even pass 500 watts. I dont even think you'll hit 400 (though I could be wrong, someone will correct me if I am)

Honestly, yes. High refresh rates are AMAZING!!! Especially in anything fast paced.

A really good psu is the EVGA SUPERNOVA G3, 80+gold rating, fully modular and $95 for the 650w version.

Don't get a Freesync monitor with an Nvidia GPU. Also if you are sticking at 4K resolution I would go for Ryzen over Intel.

I was just looking at this 1440 one because it's the most reasonable with 144:

That is also Freesync. You want G-Sync if going with an Nvidia GPU.
