Today my computer just wasn't able to recognize the OS on my main drive for some reason. I tried to fix it but I couldn't. Not a huge deal, I didn't have anything that important on it. So I made a windows installation usb drive on an alternate computer.

When I try to install Windows on my main drive, it tells me that it is an MBR partition and needs to be a GPT partition. How do I change the drive to a GPT partition from the usb drive? I know it can be done from cmd but I can't remember how.

Currently I don't think there is a partition on my main drive.  Thanks for any help in advance.

If it wasn't able to recognize the os then you need to select your drive in boot priorities in the bios. It doesn't just decide to not work one day.

Unsure what power supply to pick?

Check out my HTPC build.

When does it tell you that?

When you get to this screen?

You need to delete all the partitions before installing.

I promise that's exactly what happened. I even unplugged all other storage devices that I have in my system to try and get it to work. It still said it couldn't find the os. I checked the bios and it still recognized the drive, and it was the first and only thing in the boot order, but it couldn't load the os.

The boot mode didn't change from ACHI to whatever the other option is, did it?
