Hello guys, I was wondering if the RAM-monarch-X4 by EK can be applied to Corsair Dominator platinum (the DDR4 ones). These blocks were originally designed for DDR3 I believe where there were 3 screws on the top of the ram for the fins. I know you can modify the platinum ones to change the top bars and stuff, but I don't know if you can totally remove the fins.

watercooled ram has existed for quite a while, but as time goes on it's less and less beneficial, and more and more of a hassle.

Alright, I just received a message from an EK rep:

''Sadly, the EK-RAM Monarch X4 cannot be used with Corsair Dominator Platinum or Corsair Vengeance LED RAM. These sticks of RAM are physically larger than a standard stick, therefore the Monarch Modules that would need to go over the RAM will not fit properly.''

Since you used that block in your build, correct me if im wrong, but for a 4 ram kit, I would need to buy:

The modules 2 times:

The block itself 1 time:

Thermal pads for the top of the ram 4 times:

yes you need to buy 2x modules of the dimms, 1 block of 4x or 2x dimm width or 2 blocks if on x series,
but you dont need thermal pads for the block/module contact, use some thermal grease
i bought 1 kit of 2x monarchs, i am going to buy 1 kit more when i will receve more ram...

The monarch modules do not work properly on corsair dominators because the PCB is much taller than standard ram.

You should pick a different set of ram to use the modules on.

No there is no difference between DDR3 and DDR4.

so you used only the modules? 1 on each side without the block?

yes, mainly for aesthetics because the ecc pcb is green, and ddr4 doesnt even need any active cooling unless going beyond 3000mhz +
i dont plan on watercooling
