Lopsided System?

I built a system a few months ago and was wondering if i should upgrade? The CPU to GPU Power Ratio seems off to the more experienced computer builder in me.

Specs: R7 1700X, GTX 1060 6G, 16 GB Ram

Are you unhappy with performance?

 

If yes, then upgrade

If no, then leave it as it is

 

System balance is very subjective to your individual uses. Without more context, we can't really help.

yes a bit off, a gtx 1070, 1080, 1080ti or the new vega gpu might be better paired with a 1700x, you should be fine.

It's fine, IMO. Depends on what your total budget was. Nothing wrong with the system you built if it does what you need it to do. The GPU is the only weak point, but still, a 1060 6GB is no slouch. Can always upgrade that later on. ;)

As it stands, yours is a solid 1080p system, a 1060 will give you everything you need unless you have a 144hz panel.

An R5 1600 and GTX 1070 would be a better balance, but it depends on what you are using the pc for.

If you are gaming at 1080p, I would not upgrade. The 1060 is a good 1080p 60hz card.
