Anti Static Bag Substitute?

I've ordered ram from half way across the world, and it's arrived in nothing but a used cookie box, and a ziplock bag. I'm 99% sure it'd be fine.

That would be incorrect as the whole thing is conductive - any static electricity applied to the surface will conduct through, and hit the components. An anti-static bag is only conductive on the outside, effectively putting the component in a Faraday cage.

I created an account while searching the internet for ways to make an alternatives to an ESD bag to point out this guy is totally wrong. ESD bags are made with a thin layer of aluminum foil, the rest is plastic. A Faraday cage is supposed to be made of metal, a sheet of aluminum foil would achieve that.

The industry moved to ESD bags instead of regular aluminum foil because it's cheaper as it requires less metal.
