I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

"Here is some advice that might have gotten lost somewhere along the way in your life.

#1. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

#2. It's best to keep your mouth shut; and appear to be stupid, rather than open it and remove all doubt.

#3. There is nothing "wrong" with being wrong. Learning from a mistake can be more valuable than not making one in the first place.

For $500 you can get an RX 470/570 with a G4560, which would be 44-50% better in games than a 1400 with a 460.

Well considering the budget of this build, and the mobo you have in this build, and upgrade to the Ryzen 1600 is much more reasonable than a 7700k as that B250 mobo would not be able to handle much if any overclock and the Ryzen 1600 would not require overclocking and could compete aginst the i5 7500 which has very similar gaming and desktop scores, but the Ryzen would win in productivity. http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-7500-vs-AMD-Ryzen-5-1600/3648vs3919

a 1400 to 1600 is not really an upgrade, what you do is unlock 2 extra core that was locked and that's all

It's $20. It's a 450B with some costs cut, so it'll be fine. It's nothing special, but it'll do the job, and it's $20.

H110 chipset motherboards will have the relevant BIOS to work with Kaby Lake if they left the factory this year. Only older chipset motherboards that have been sitting in storage for over 5 and a half months won't work with Kaby Lake out of the box. It's highly unlikely there are many older motherboards shipping that aren't compatible with Kaby Lake out the box now. Regardless, he could just ask Newegg to update the BIOS on the motherboard for him before they send it, that way whether it had the relevant BIOS or not to work with Kaby Lake, it will when it leaves Newegg. So, that's not an issue.

That means nothing.

So, that's not an issue.

higher failure chance especially since that hdd is his only method of storage

450b is already shit so if you are cutting corners on an already shit psu then I don't know @Energycore @STRMfrmXMN
