Can't get my pc to post?

Just swapped out my i5 6600k for an i7 6700k. I did the changeover carefully and installed thermal paste as i should. I turned the pc on again but i cannot get any visual output to my monitors. I've had no system beeps but i did notice that my motherboard's cpu light flashes once when power is turned on before the ram light comes on solidly. Any ideas or fixes?

I've already tried removing a ram stick, still nothing better

have you connected the EPS cable.

Can you exaggerate? I didn't unplug any of the internal cables when i swapped over, i did turn off the power supply at the plug and left it plugged in for grounding though

Reinstall the 6600k and see if the PC still works. If it does then the new CPU is broken and you should get it replaced.
