Laptop insurance

This is strictly about the laptop as such so forgive me if its in the wrong place! 

 

I am about to take out insurance on my laptop. I have all the extras like accidental damage (I am very clumbsy lol) and theft/loss

 

However, how do I actually prove that I have lost my laptop if I did? It seems to easy to say 'Oh i've lost my laptop'

 

Anyone have ever lost their laptop and claimed?

I'd check to see if you laptop supports computrace or some kind of other lowjack. I have a few that do. 

 

Also, you posted this in Off Topic, not a relevant tech section. Off topic will get fewer replies. Could have done general?

general would be a catch all for tech related things. Off topic is generally non tech stuff therefore it no longer shows up in the recent topics box, which has kinda killed the section.

You should ask the company that handles the warranty about the specific terms and how certain scenarios are handled.
