I got a gtx 1080 for 450 for 1080p 144hz. Some games would benefit from a 1080 ti but thats 700 dollars. You think thats a good deal?

Intel Core i7 4790 CPU  - Stock cooler - Gigabyte GTX 1080 GPU

Asrock Z97 Pro4 Motherboard - HyperX 16GB DDR3 1866 MHz Ram (Dual Channel) - Cooler Master V750 PSU

Samsumg Evo 250gb SSD - Segate 2TB - NZXT S340 Mid-tower.

Best deal. 1080 ti would NOT be a better deal per se. There MIGHT be some games, where you benefit from more performance.

However: Keep in Mind, a GTX 1080 ti has SO much power in mere 1080p, that you will run into CPU Bottleneck in most (not all!) Games.

Check DigitalFoundry's Videos ;)

When they test CPUs, they use an Overclocked Titan X (= 1080 ti~ performance), paired with any CPU, and run modern games in 1080p / Ultra settings. That is already enough for a CPU Bottleneck.

And let me tell you, your 4690k is not enough to run a 1080 ti ;) Because  that baby WILL run into a Bottleneck with such an overpowered GPU.

Would be okay with 1440p, or perfectly fine with 4k. but 1080p.. oh boy, that is difficult.

Yeah, I'm thinking about upgrading my cpu to a ryzen or i7.

The 1080 will crush 1080p anyways, the 1080ti in that case in 30% faster and 50% more expensive. The 1080 is by far the better deal.
