SSD Info Plz.

Looking for info on SSD drives.  Does anyone know what the basic difference is between m.2, m.2 2242, and m.2 2280 ssd drives is?  Just installed my Asus Sabertooth 990FX 3.0 mobo and the info manual says it supports m.2.  Looking to get something bigger than the 512 ssd that I have in there but I'm curious what the difference is between these three different types.  Thanks in advance for any information that you people can provide.

M.2 2242 is 4.2cm, 2260 is 6cm, 2280 is 8 cm
Just different in length
