Which RX580 Model?

I'm helping somebody put together a PC, and just looking for some thought on which RX580 model to choose (and why). Needs to be available in Canada. Something that is still a good price, with a good and quiet cooler. Thanks.

My vote is with the MSI version. Best cooler around from what I hear.

XFX RX580 GTS/GTR-S, the G1 Gaming from Gigabyte or the Asus Strix. The MSI card has the same cooler as the RX480 variant but the chip itself runs a bit hotter due to the higher power limit, so the fans will spin faster generating more noise. Unless you undervolt the GPU (which you should do as soon as you have the card), then yeah, the MSI one is also a good option.

Thoughts on the MSI ARMOR OC or Gigabyte AORUS?

According to a German testsite, it's Sapphire Nitro+ or Asus Strix, as VERY good models. Asus is pretty expensive tho...

 

Sapphire was bad on the RX 480, but on the RX 580 the Cooler is so much better.

 

Aorus might be good too.

MSI Armor is a cheaper model.

Want to keep the price down, so do you think the Gigabyte Auros (NOT the XTR) or MSI ARMOR OC?
